Nancy came with us to Barbados for our son, Kaylen's wedding in 2012. He was special to her as he was born just days before Derek passed away in 1983. She spoke of an earlier trip she had taken with her mom to Barbados and that she was sorry she never got in for a swim. We took her for lunch before leaving, and then inlisted the help of our 6'4" friend, Phil who carried her out to water. She was scared at first but as she floated and tossed in the waves the biggest smile came across her face and then the laughter. She was thrilled to finally feel the Caribbean waters.
