Frank passed away suddenly due to coronary complications at Lanark Lodge, Perth on Thursday November 28th, 2019, at the age of 85 years. He was the dearly loved husband for 63 years of Margaret Daphne (Nelms) Russell.
Frank was born on July 5th, 1934 in Winnipeg, MAN, raised in Victoria, BC, and spent much of his life married to his beloved wife Margaret and raising his three children, Leslie, Neil and Peter in Ottawa, ON.
Frank was married to Margaret in 1956, received his Electrical Engineering degree from UBC in 1957, and fulfilled his lifelong passion for flying as a Flight Leftenant in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Returning to university, he obtained his MBA from Western University in 1972 and established a second career in the Federal Public Service as a hospital administrator in Moose Factory, ON; Rankin Inlet, Nunavut; Teulon, MAN; Cambridge Bay, NWT; Inuvik, NWT; and Bella Bella, BC.
Frank was the loved and respected father of Leslie, Neil and Peter, father-in-law to Mary (Hendry) and Connie (Ogilvie) respectively, and grandfather to Samantha, Joshua (Martine), Emma and Mackenzie. Frank is predeceased by his daughter Leslie Jean McNairn and brother Norman Russell. He will be sadly missed by grand daughter-in-law Martine Russell (McGregor), son-in-law James McNairn, brother John (Lynn) Russell, sister-in-law Elizabeth, and the rest of his family and friends
Family and friends will join together for a gathering to honour Frank's life at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W., Perth on Saturday December 7th, 2019. The family will share memories at 2:00 P.M. followed by a reception until 4:00 P.M. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in memory of Frank are asked to consider the Alzheimer's Society of Lanark County "Day Away" Program or the Ottawa Heart Institute.
