Condolence From: James Doran
Condolence: Dear Donna and family

Although we have never met I want to send my deep condolences to you on the loss of your husband Stephen last August. I just found out about it otherwise I certainly would have come to the Funeral if I had known.

I got to know Steve well over the 13 years I have done business with Smiths Falls Hyundai. I bought 5 vehicles from him over that time and have kept returning to the dealership even though my wife and I moved to the other side of Ottawa in 2008 - in large part because of the high level of service, friendliness and fairness that I have always received there. I consider that high standard to be in large part due to the leadership of Steve. An organization is only as good as the top and Steve was very good. It's rare to find that in the business world these days especially at car dealerships.

When I learned he was battling cancer on my last visit to the dealership in late July I sent him a text message to pass on my best wishes and hopes that he would beat that merciless disease. He was kind enough to reply - he was that kind of guy - and had a positive attitude even then when he must have known that his chances of survival were not that good.

I lost my beautiful wife Diane in November 2017 to liver disease (she was also too young to die at age 57) so I know what you are feeling right now. I hope the great memories you have of him - and the gratitude for having had him in your life for as long as you did - will help you to overcome the grief and sadness at losing him.

Take care and God bless. Should you ever want to reach me Kent, Eric and Keith all have my coordinates.

Condolence: So very sorry and shocked to hear of Stephens passing. I worked with Stephen at the dealership for over 15 years where we got on so well together. Nothing was a bother to him even minding our cat when we were on holiday. His generosity new no bounds. Stephen always amazed me how he could tackle any job and do it well. He will be sadly missed not only by his family but by the whole community. Our thoughts and prayers are with Donna, Michelle and Megan at this sad time.
