Passed away peacefully, in Smiths Falls, Ontario on Friday, August 18, 2017 at the age of 91. Edith was born in Essen Germany to parents Friedrich Wilhelm and Maria Veronika Skibba. She was predeceased by husbands Werner von der Kammer and Albert Baker and siblings Willi, Gunther and Helga. Edith is survived by her children Alan (Catherine) of Kanata, ON Horst (Nancy) of Port Severn, ON, Anne (Greig) Frant of the United Kingdom, Edda of Noel, NS, Ilka (Douglas) of Carleton Place, ON, Angela (Don) of Dartmouth, NS and Donald (Pamela) of Port Elmsley, ON. Edith leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. To honour Edith’s wishes, cremation will take place. A private family ceremony will be held with interment at Horton Cemetery, Renfrew at a later date. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Smiths Falls Community Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care).
