The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Dorothy Muir can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Her eternal love and compassion...

When Carolyn was about ten years old, Dorothy was here for dinner. She seemed to be particularly pensive that evening which made me wonder what she was thinking. When the three children were away from the table, and we lingered over coffee and tea, I moved to the seat beside her. Dorothy thanked me for coming closer as she had something she wanted to say. She leaned toward me and in the sweetest low steady voice she expressed her admiration and deep gratitude for the difference I made in Carolyn's life. She was thrilled that the three children had the opportunity to experience so many wonderful activities that I orchestrated. Her words touched my heart. I know how difficult the circumstances were to make this exchange happen. And no thanks were required. Little Carolyn was a pleasure then as she is now. It's difficult to believe that nearly one year has past since the beautiful Muir Matriarch left us. Her torch has been passed over to those who are left to ensure that her legacy continues - To love and respect one and other and to protect our planet. Why are we here if not to make life easier and kinder for each other.... Dearest Dorothy, you are missed.
