Peacefully in the presence of her loved ones, Jessie passed away on Sunday February 22, 2015 at Kingston General Hospital in her 81st year. Predeceased in 1978 by her loved son Stephen and in 2010 by her beloved husband of 54 years, Charles S. Machan. Cherished mother of Stuart (Anne) Machan, Peter Machan, Susan (Stephen) Lucas, Ruth (Tony) Vanderlaan, Michael (Ian Campbell) Machan, Treena Machan (James Peacock), Andrew (Kim) Machan, Amy Machan (Ali Zeba). Much loved grandmother of Stephen (Jezkova Bowen), Justin (Rebecca DiCola), and Aaron Machan (Meghan Heinrich); Max (Bernadette Deane), and Maggie Stewart, Alexander Machan (Ema Albert-Wirta); Samuel, Sean, and Simon Lucas; Joshua, Jessica, Josie, Jed and Jannah Vanderlaan; Wendell and Cheyanne Peabody; Maclean and Caleb Machan; and Vivian DeLaCruz. Predeceased by her siblings Fred, George and John Acheson and by her parents Stuart and Minnie (Sargeant) Acheson. Fondly remembered by all of her extended Acheson and Machan families. Her children would like to offer thanks to the staff at the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital and the Kingston General Hospital for their special and respectful attention to their mother’s care. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 112 Beckwith St. N., Smiths Falls on Friday March 6, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Her life will be celebrated with a service to be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 106 Church Street, Merrickville on Saturday March 7, 2015 at 10:30 am. Spring internment will be held in Hopetown Cemetery. In remembrance, contributions to Holy Trinity Church or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
