A Shared Memory From Bernadette

Even though a year has passed, I feel it was only yesterday, that Marg was showing me through her new apartment, her and John were sharing. I will always smile, when I think of the time, that Marg went with me to visit my Aunt Vera at the Community Nursing Home in Perth. Up to the second floor we went, I opened the door, looked in and I thought, Oh my, she really has changed. I had not seen her in quite a few years and she was laying in bed, covered right up to her chin. We ventured closer and I said, " Hi Aunt Vera " She just looked at me, so I asked her if she remembered me? She did not respond ! So Marg and I went back downstairs and inquired about my Aunt. We then found out that we were in the wrong room! So we did manage to visit my Aunt after all but after we got outside we could not help laughing about the mistake I had made. When we got a chance to visit together after that for lunch, Marg and I still giggled about that time. It was my priveledge to have been Marg's former workmate and friend, even though the years passed by with us living in different cities. I feel that family and friends will alway have a very special place in their heart for Marg who was such a kind and gentle soul.
