Passed away peacefully at the Queensway Carlton Hospital, Ottawa on Sunday, January 26, 2020. Beloved husband and best friend of the late Jo Anne Rowsome-Durnford. Dear brother of June Fudge of Burgeo, Newfoundland and beloved brother-in-law of Jackie Rowsome of Brockville, Ontario and Mary Durnford of Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is survived by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and his former colleagues in Ottawa in the Department of Agriculture. He is also predeceased by his brothers Alexander and Harold Durnford, his sister Elizabeth Hayman, Ben's brothers-in-law Sam Hayman and Sam Fudge. and his sister-in-law Rita Durnford. There will be a service at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls Chapel on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 11 a.m. Following the service, all are welcome to gather in the Blair & Son Reception Centre for a sharing of memories and refreshments. At the conclusion of the reception, all are welcome to attend the interment at Hillcrest Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Bayshore Home Health.
