Obituary for Margaret "Betty" Elizabeth Somerville (Drysdale)
Somerville, Margaret "Betty" R.N.
Betty passed away surrounded by the love of her family at Lanark Lodge, Perth on Monday October 7th, 2019 at the age of 83 years. She was predeceased by her parents Robert & Effie (Ashcroft) Drysdale. Betty will be sadly missed by her husband of 60 years, Tom; her children Ruth (Pat) Publow, Tom (Katherine) Somerville and Jane Somerville, grandchildren Katie (Sebastian) Rivera and Patrick (fiancé Meghan Strank), Kieran and Donnan Somerville, Joel (Melissa) Pickering and Eric Pickering and great grandson Theo Pickering. Betty was the loved sister of Don (Connie) Drysdale, Ruth (late George) Duncan, Roberta Drysdale and Helen (Evert) Bron. She will be fondly remembered by all her family including the Somerville family and many good friends. Betty graduated in nursing 1959 from Kingston General Hospital and spent most of her career at St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital, Kingston.
Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St., W., Perth on Friday October 11th, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Funeral service will be held in the chapel Saturday at 10:00 A.M. followed by a reception in the Blair & Son Family Centre. Interment, Pine Grove Cemetery. In remembrance, contributions to the Anglican Parish of Maberly Lanark or the Day Away Program of the Lanark County Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
