Passed away peacefully in hospital, Smiths Falls on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the age of 87. Loving husband and best friend of Ruth Simey. Devoted father of Dave, Jimmy, Steven (Shay), Danny (Andrea), Robbie (Stephanie) Simey, Judy Smith and predeceased by daughter Ellen Simey. Cherished grandfather of Adam, Tina, James Jr., Jacob, Johnny, Kaydence, Spencer, Alaiya, Patrick, Roy, Luke and Madalynn and great-grandfather of Brandon, Brianna, Bailey and Bradley. Brother of Kathleen Doyle and the late John Simey and Iris Skull. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls, on Saturday September 3, 2016 from 10 am until service in the chapel at 12 noon. Interment will take place at Maple Vale Cemetery. If desired, you are welcome to consider making a donation in James’ memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
