Entered into rest peacefully in her sleep at St. Lawrence Lodge on Tuesday, August 9, 2016. Gladys May Gemmill (nee Gordon) in her 98th year. Wife of the late Willard Gemmill and dear mother of Barbara Irvine (Brent) and the late Garry Gemmill. Lovingly remembered by her daughter-in-law Linda Gemmill. Also survived by her oldest son Donald and his wife Brenda. Much loved Nana to Tracey (Steve) Pennett and their children Paige, Hunter and Faith; Tara (Peter) Durnin and their children Kendra, Teaghan and Blake; Jennifer (Jeff) Fitzgerald, Krista (Doug) Strachan and their children Ainsley and Logan; Jonathan (Natalie) Irvine and their son Jack; Rebecca Irvine (Michael Larj), Brian Gemmill and Lisa Coppins. Fondly remembered by her sister Bertha Hanna, sister-in-law Grayce Gordon and by several nieces and nephews and by a special cousin Janis (Bob) Dixon. Predeceased by daughters Marie and Karen, brothers Jim, Billy, Bobbie, Ross, Edwin and Clifford Gordon as well as her parents Susie Almeda O'Neil and Burns Gordon.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn 2451 County Road 15, Maitland on Friday from 5pm until 8pm thence to St. Paul's United Church 25 Gore Street West, Perth where a ceremony celebrating Gladys' life will be held on Saturday, August 13th, 2016 at 2 pm. A private family interment will take place at Crawford's Cemetery at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the UCW of St. Paul's United Church or the OSPCA Leeds and Grenville Branch will be gratefully acknowledged.
