The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Russell Lackey can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: Russ was a good man. He worked with my Dad.John Watson in the OPP when he was married to Doris. I always remember the Trans AM.Russ said once he turned that 403 Olds block 5300 rpm. When he lived on Beach near Ellis drive. My Dad liked Russ and always spoke highly of him. He said he picked him up as a recruit in 1970 in Long Sault. Something like that anyway. Russ was a smart man and my Dad always said that. I remember when Derek Shane Lackey was born everyone was so happy. I ramble now but in short. He was a fine officer and what quick wit. Bless.

Condolence: I remember, back in the good old days of the '70s, having many a conversation with Russ while sitting in our cruisers in median crossovers out on the 401 near the Morrisburg/Prescott line. Russ was an up-front cop's kind of cop; you had no worries if he had your back covered. I am truly saddened to hear that another one of the good guys is gone, making our old-time thin blue line even thinner. Rest easy, Bro', you will always be remembered.
