Retired Major, Canadian Armed Forces (Military Engineering Branch), retired director Department of Indian Affairs and graduate of St. Francis Xavier University and Nova Scotia Technical School (Civil Engineering).
Suddenly while on holiday in Paris France, on Thursday, September 11th, 2014 at the age of 77 years. Rod was son of the late Catherine and Neil MacLean. He was the beloved husband of Joyce (Gauthier) MacLean of Perth; loved and respected father of Ann Marie MacLean of Halifax, Sheila MacLean of Ottawa and Bruce MacLean of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was the dear brother of Carmie MacLean of Washabuck, Nova Scotia, Bernie MacLean of Canso, Nova Scotia, Cyril MacLean of Toronto and Joe MacLean of Calgary. He will be sadly missed by several nieces, nephews, family and many good friends. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair and Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. West, Perth, Ontario, K7H 2L7 on Thursday, September 18th, 2014 from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. A service will be held in the chapel at 11:00 A.M. followed by a reception in the Blair and Son Family Centre. In remembrance, contributions to the Great War Memorial Hospital Foundation, 33 Drummond St., West, Perth, K7H 2K1 would be appreciated.
