It is with great sadness after a courageous battle with cancer; that the family announces the passing of Betty on August 21, 2014 with her family by her side. Betty was born November 3, 1940 in Bathurst, NB and is predeceased by her parents Andre and Priscilla Berube. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 56 years Ronald Hale, her brother Roger (Betty) Berube of Rockport, Texas and sister-in-law Beverly de la Fosse of Trenton, ON. Cherished mother to Lori Neal of Smiths Falls, Brad (Joan) Hale of Kingston and Audra (Tom) Nugent of Smiths Falls. Nanny will also be so sadly missed by her grandchildren Erica Neal of Shanghai, China and Jessi Neal, Becky and Ethan Nugent of Smiths Falls. Also left to mourn is her extended family and friends. Her family would like to thank the caring staff of the Smiths Falls and Perth District Hospital and Maureen Brophy N.P. for all their care, compassion and support during Betty's illness. Family and friends may pay their respects Monday, August 25, 2014 from 11 to 1 pm followed by the service at 1 pm in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory, can be made to the Lanark Animal Welfare Society or to the Ontario Special Olympics - Smiths Falls.
