Melanson, Donald Alexander
Passed away peacefully at the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus on Saturday, July 19th, 2014 at the age of 65 years. Loving husband of Norma (Sargeant) Melanson for 42 years. Dearly loved father of Lorna (Patrick) Quinn and Adam (Alexendra) Melanson. Cherished Poppa of MacKenzie and Allison Quinn and Fraser Melanson. Brother of Bill (Nicole) and the late Kenneth Melanson. Son of the late Clifford and Ethel (Gordon) Melanson and son-in-law of the late Garnet and Kate (Echlin) Sargeant. He was brother-in-law of Leonard (Diane) Echlin, Darleen Sargeant (Ray Storie), Rick (Joan) Sargeant and the late Donna (Sargeant) Barr. Don will be sadly missed by his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may pay their respects at the Young Funeral Home, Lanark, Ontario on Wednesday, July 23rd, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Funeral service will be held in St. Andrew’s United Church, Lanark on Thursday at 10:00 A.M. Interment, Pinehurst Cemetery, Playfairville. In remembrance, contributions to the Oncology Unit of the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus would be appreciated.
