Obituary for Matthew John "Matt" Popplewell

Matthew John "Matt" Popplewell
Popplewell, Matthew John

It is with great sadness Matt's family announce his passing at the age of 46 years. Matt was the greatly loved husband and soul mate of Lisa (Dudding) Popplewell; dear and proud father of Sam and Luke. He will be sadly missed by brothers David and Mark (Lori) Popplewell and their sons Nolan and Chris, his sister Dawn (Mike) Asselstine and their children Nathanial and Melissa. Much loved son-in-law of Geraldine and Randy Dudding and brother-in-law of Geof (Jane) Dudding and their daughters Casey and Jessie. Matt was predeceased by his parents Les and Doris (Chaplin) Popplewell. He will be fondly remembered by the extended Popplewell and Dudding families, his paramedic colleagues and many good friends. Matt served as a paramedic for over 27 years in Perth with the Lanark County Paramedic Service. He loved nothing more than fishing and camping with his family and hockey on the pond with his sons. Friends and family will join for a service to remember Matt's life at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W. Perth on Saturday, July 19th, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. Those wishing are asked to consider memorial donation to Roger's House or the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO).

"There's beauty in the silver, singing river

There's beauty in the sunrise in the sky

But none of these and nothing else can touch the beauty

That I remember in my true love's eyes".
