Our funeral home in Perth is located at 15 Gore Street West. (Click the map for driving directions). We are proud to be an independent family funeral home, in our fourth generation of family service.  We serve the communities of  Perth, Smiths Falls, Lanark and surrounding communities. Our funeral home in Perth is the third oldest continually operated facility in Ontario, founded in 1836.  The Blair family involvement began in the early 1900’s when Alex Blair purchased a share from David Hogg and went into partnership with the Thompson family. Shortly thereafter, he purchased the remaining portion of the business. The funeral home has evolved many times over the years beginning as a part of the furniture store. In 1939 the current chapel was constructed with additions coming in the 70’s and 80’s. In 2002 a milestone occurred with the construction of a new home furnishings facility on Highway 7 at the eastern end of Perth. The former furniture store was extensively reconstructed with the addition of new visitation rooms, lobby area and large family reception centre. The creation of a new reception facility now allows families to have post funeral receptions or meals for small or large groups while in our care.

Our funeral home in Smiths Falls is located at 112 Beckwith Street North. ((Click the map for driving directions).. The original stone was constructed shortly after the completion of the Rideau Canal around 1850. The structure remained as a private residence until 1937 when it was purchased by Harold and Grant Amy who converted it to a funeral home. The Blair family purchased it from Harold Amy in 1972 adding new visitation facilities and chapel in 1976. The year 1998 saw the completion of a further addition with a new visitation room, preparation room, garages, and family reception centre.  The creation of a new reception facility now allows families to have post funeral receptions or meals for small or large groups while in our care.

Our funeral home in Lanark is located at 83 Argyle St. ((Click the map for driving directions).).On May 24, 1946 the property known as Sacred Heart Parish was purchased by George Sheldon Young.  The property consisted of Lot 29 on which the house stands; Lot 30 where the barn still exists plus lot 20 which was a right-of-way to Princess Street.  George’s father, James Young had been “Undertaker” in the Village and surrounding area and now George, in his father’s foot-steps, used his newly acquired stone building to bring into being “˜The Young Funeral Home’.  The stone building was now home to George & Bessie Young and their daughter Patricia as well as being the only Funeral Home in the village area. Young Ambulance  Service was also brought into effect, which served a large area both in the village and surrounding communities.  An ambulance was available twenty four hours a day as was the service for funeral calls.  The Young’s also ran the furniture store which was always open, except at the time of a funeral.   As the funeral business changed over the years, the Young Funeral Home needed assistance and Alex W. Headrick joined the company as a second licensed Funeral Director and ambulance driver.  Wilson Creighton was the third employee to assist on funerals and ambulance calls.  Lanark and community was deeply shocked on the morning of April 16, 1974 to learn of the sudden death of George S. Young.  He had been predeceased by his wife Elizabeth C. (Palmer) Young in 1966.  With the assistance of Alex Headrick and Wilson Crieighton, Patricia Young now continued to operate the funeral home until November 1975 when Blair & Son Funeral Directors purchased the entire holdings and continued to operate the home as Young Funeral Home. In 2003, Patricia (Young) Deacon, who has come full circle; is associated on a daily basis with the Young Funeral Home and Blair & Son Funeral Home.  Mae Craig , who is a long time employee is a familiar face; she is ever present assisting families and does the donations for each service.  The Young Funeral Home continues to be a tower of strength to families and is still the “big stone house on the hill”.
